HAPPY ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY DEARIE!!!

huff and puff! so we've made it through one year now (FINALLY!! haha) and i have to say its been a long and arduous journey. but, i must say every single moment of it was definitely worth it, its only made me and us stronger and for the better. if you had told me last year that my first relationship would actually last for a WHOLE year, i would have laughed and taken it any day. so yes, there it is.

had school today so we celebrated last night, dinner at waterfront, followed by a short spell in the casino which i shant elaborate on zzz haha. i got an inflatable collingwood chair for my present, which i absolutely adore! hee ok dear me now i have to get a present for nicole haha.

so yup, until the day we cannot love each other anymore, here's hugs and kisses for my dearest girlfriend.

school today was zzz boring snoring. i enjoy some lectures if the lecturers actually make it interesting but this guy was just sleeping pills man. and he looked like an extremely obese quentin taratino i swear.

okie dokes gabriel out!

i am so dead tired. but today was a doubly good day.

today was my longest school day of the week and i went for EVERY SINGLE CLASS. which is something i havent done since trinity i think. go for every single class of the day that is! so i demand THREE CHEERS FOR GAB!! somemore i left the house at 9am and got back at 7pm that should tell you what a long day i had and how proud you should be of me!!

but the first thing that made today good was how rewarding i found going for class, and actually paying attention, can be. although difficult to comprehend, i managed to understand what the lecturers were talking about eventually. i was like in the front few rows for all the classes haha what a nerd!!

psych lab was sick tho, we watched a video and they showed an actual operation of a brain being split into half!! damn sick first they used a surgical scissors to cut the dunno what apart and it was all slimy and YUCKS! then they actually sliced the brain into half. i honestly felt like puking. hope you're not eating as you're reading this!!

and what made today DOUBLY GOOD is I PASSED MY LAST SUBJECT!! the one that was unconfirmed, i passed it! give another six cheers for gab! so my results for last semester are 2 passes, 1 distinction, and one failure, which honestly arent bad rite??

heh heh NO SCHOOL TOMORROW!! gonna sleep in (which i totally deserve), go out for lunch, play soccer, come back, glue my ass to the couch and watch COLLINGWOOD PAO HAWTHORN!!!

remind me to go TAB to bet, gabriel out!!

after reading dan's blog, i realised i havent mentioned the new apartment much. well, we sorta tried to maximise the space, but as it already is, it's such a bigger space compared to dan's apartment last semester that we are actually finding it hard to fill up the space.

but we manage somehow. as u walk in, u encounter a neat little shoe rack, so when you do come, REMEMBER TO LEAVE YOUR SMELLY SHOES THERE!! and to the right in a nice corner, are two study tables. dan has the nicer one with drawers and all with a roller chair, while mine is a pathetic wooden table with a wooden chair. and the worst thing is, my chair cant roll around!! so i'm gonna buy a roller chair becos i need to be able to move about when i'm studying. like roll to the kitchen to get some food after doing philosophy notes, and roll to the tv and forget about psychology when footie is on. well, you get the idea :)

directly in front of you when you walk in is our tv/dinner area. well basically, the dinner area is a very pathetic small table with chairs around it. however, the tv area is quite cosy, two couches and a nice glass table. altho i must say after watching the previous tenants' tv last semester, my tv is DAMN SMALL, SON!

our kitchen is my pride and joy cos i've been the one in charge of it basically. you will NEVER go hungry in my house. today, we made swedish meatballs we bought from ikea with some boiled potatoes and peas (altho anyone who knows me knows i didnt go near the peas). when dan asked me to stir the peas, i took one whiff of the pea juices and told him to stir it himself. nonetheless, dinner was very very good. cooking in my house is such a fantasy because on the right of the stove, there are like 25 bottles of spices and condiments. you name it, we have it.
fish sauce, soy sauce, dark sauce, cooking oil, olive oil, sesame oil, tomyum paste, dried chilli peppers, chilli sauce, alot of nice nice yummy stuff.

and then my room is quite cosy and nice altho my bed is next to the window which seems to let alot of cold air in even though it closed. freeze my balls off at night but thankfully i'm not the one sleeping closer to the window haha oops. dan's room is nice as well, we had a table just for playing cards in there heh.

and then our toilet is neat and tidy!! having your own washing machine and dryer just encourages you to be hygenic and do laundry regularly. as compared to when i had to walk a mile to do my laundry, showing everyone what colour underwear i wear in the process. as you can tell, i never washed my moo cow and rabbit boxers because of that :D

SO ANYWAY, i will attempt to take photos and put them up so it will entice everyone to come to melbourne and stay at my place. remember, EVERYONE is warmly welcomed to stay over. we have like 3 spare mattresses so sleeping space is not a problem. the more the merrier, and until i see your ass down in my house in melbourne, gabriel out!!!

LETTER TO WHOEVER IT MAY BE APPLICABLE TO

dearest man/woman with spare A$1000,

it has been brought to my attention lately that i am in a rocky financial situation. i am a 42 year old primary school dropout with 3 wives and 7 children. due to my limited education (i failed primary 3), i have spent most of my time odd-jobbing as a plummer, breeklayer, and garbeige kerllackter. this doesnt pay well as you can tell, i only earn A$150 a week. i think my pay is somewhere around there. as i said, i failed primary 3 so you tell me what $15 a day for 5 days a week is!!

we used to survive on mouldy bread and cockroaches but lately since the birth of my youngest daughter, we have one more mouth to feed, one more body to clothe, one more mind to shape, and most importantly, one more mouth to feed.

you tell me, my eldest son just turned 25, and he is working as a jaga. you know what a jaga is right. he jagas things. i thinks in the queen's language, he is known as a serucity guard. so he works the night time shift, 10pm-6am, so that's about 12 hours of hard work. and he only earns $10. hardly enough to support himself and his 2 wives and 12 kids, let alone contribute to my family income.

my 17 year old song, lagi better. want to become a rock star, every since he watch the stupid idol show on channel 5! he told me he want to be like that onetreehill or molehill fella, forgot what his name is. i tell him, study hard get a good education he dont want. of cos, we parents only want to see our children happy. so, he want to be rocker, need guitar right? i bought him nice guitar, cost $2500. in the end, i realise, my life savings only left $2500. so 2500 minus 2500, i dont know what it is but according to my banker, i have nothing left. "kwa kwa kwa" were his exact words.

so this is a painful appeal on the part of a poor and pitiful man, who is just trying to fulfil his duties as the sole breadwinner of his family in supporting his kin. anyone with a spare A$1000, you know you want to give it to me. your kindness will never me forgotten.

yours serenity,
tan ah kow
PS. hopefully by now you would realise that was entirely fictional. truth is, i was damn itchy finger i went to bid in an online auction for players' actual matchworn jerseys. i kaypoh go and bid $500 for scott pendlebury and $290 for anthony rocca thinking people will outbid me but it's been two days and im still the highest bidder. please oh please someone with a kind heart either:
a) GIVE ME THE MONEY
b) OUTBID ME
because i also bid for another two jerseys worth $100 each!! if i win all the bids, i'll be the happiest broke man alive. so do gab a favour kids, and donate a small portion of your daily allowance your mommy gives you to the "HELP GAB PAY FOR HIS GUERNSEY" fund.
until then, moron out!

LETTER TO MANCHESTER UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB

dear sir alex ferguson,

it has come to my attention of late that your club has been linked with spanish centre forward, fernando jose torres sanz of club atletico de madrid. it is with my utmost pleasure that i inform you, PLEASE DO IT!!!!!!

senor torres, nicknamed el nino, belies his young age with astounding maturity on the pitch. unlike many hot-headed young ones (think your present boys messrs rooney and ronaldo), torres can keep his cool in a heated situation.

of course, i am not asking you to buy him solely on his good temperament, otherwise you should be buying nelson mandela, who i am pretty sure scores many goals on a totally different field.

many a critic has often drawn attention to torres' inability to live up to expectations, maintaining he is nothing but an over-rated prospect. i would now like to draw your attention to appendix A, titled "spain's performance at germany 2006". it is apparent that torres was easily spain's best player, outperforming many "BIGGER NAMES" like raul, puyol, xabi alonso and xavi. according to table 1a, he scored 3 goals in the world cup, which puts him at joint-second. while i agree he is 'joint' with many others, he only got 4 games under his belt, and 3 goals in 4 games is quite a reasonable tally!

he possesses breakneck speed, which he combines with great control and dribbling ability, culminating in what must be one of the most difficult forwards to stop whilst on the run. his strongest ability has to be his shooting, where his goals range from delicate finishes, to the most emphatic of long range volleys.

in addition, mr van nistelrooy who currently plies his trade for your team has stated a desire to leave the great UNITED. such a bizzare and outrageous statement can only serve to show he has gone bonkers, and at your club, only sane professionals are required, which is why that lunatic should be sold, and el nino should be bought.

sir alex aka mr ferguson, i IMPLORE you to spend a small amount of 25million pounds to obtain mr torres from atletico. at 22, he has another 10 seasons of 30 goals to give to united. 10 times 30 equals...erm... ALOT OF GOALS i assure you!

most importantly, i could never watch another game of soccer if torres was wearing the blue of chelsea.

yours sincerely,
man utd number one fan,
fernando torres' agent,
GABRIEL TAN AIK HOONG!!
ladies and gentlemen, i give you FERNANDO TORRES

back in gloomy ol' melbourne, which is in dire need of a little brightening.

last day in singapore was very very good and eventful. drinks all round at the balcony with (in order of appearance) owen, jin, azad, nigel, moses and ryan. drank quite a fair bit and smart ass jin ordered the jelly cocktail which was so gay yet nice everyone got hooked on it. LEMON MELON!

walked around with azad and the zebra gang after that, looking for more zebras including the QUEEN ZEBRA AH MA! and then to the airport.

my flight wasnt bad, lotsa fobs on board tho.

counting down to tuesday :)

FORZA ITALIA!!!!!

italy winning has just made any negatives in a relatively good week bearable. and looking back, i dont even think there have been any negatives.

for all the respect i have for him, i think zidane failed to live up to the occasion but i dont like talking soccer on my blog so i shall keep it as that.

weian bought the super nice white and blue nike air legend, and he also realised i'd bought new street soccer shoes. so today, we are both going to queensway for him to get his street soccer shoes, and for me to hopefully get my mercurial vapors, unless they dont have it or something else catches my eye. haha alritey, GABRIEL OUT!

wednesday was pretty fun. taught pe for 5 hours, and then eric zhi and kyle came to school to play games. so we played soccer awhile and amazingly mrs tan scored a goal haha. then we played floorball against the teachers which i think i was doing alright until i had the MOTHER OF ALL CRAMPS!!! i pulled my calf and then i hobbled to the side and it was so pain i asked syafiq aka mohammed top to stretch for me and everytime i thot it was ok and asked him to let go it cramped back. so our team was two players for about the 10 minutes he was helping me stretch. eventually it got ok and some of the sport leaders got me ice.

after that mum fetched me home cos i couldnt really walk so i went home and took a nap. woke up at around 6 and went to meet madam and the rest at guthrie. followed marc home for abit and then ZOUK! which was boring and crowded, i think i had more fun sitting outside and talking to people. probably the only fun part inside was zhi kyle eric and me frantically trying to follow the actions.

newton supper after that and then watching my dear portugal lose to france. all those people who say cristiano is a crybaby, BALLS TO YOU! france are friggin cheats they should just screw back up the eiffel tower.

yesterday had a funny gig at azad's dad's function, followed by indochine. favourite song wherever you will go in front of 30 people? and i havent done it for so long it was rather nerve wrecking. but all in all, a good night.

okay going to visit my grandma now, gabriel out!

work has been a drag so far. probably should blame the lack of sleep but nonetheless, kids who dont listen to you is quite a nightmare when you've had less than 2 hours of sleep the night before. missing out on sentosa is equally bad :(

lucky i had my darling nicole to cheer me up after a long and tiring day at school today. lunch at newton and then "just my luck" at cine. thanks for the day dearie.

haha just got back from tango's with eric marc zhi tat cel and SHUMIN. managed to persuade/force tat to come out despite him having a test tomorrow. haha it was pretty wicked i guess as in we had fun. drinking and chatting and jacking each other (ok well i'm sorry i was doing most of the jacking :P). cabbed home with cel and SHUMIN after that.

to watch or not to watch deutschland-italia. i'll just set my alarm and see how it goes. work tomorrow and the rest of the next two weeks promises to be a killer. until then, gabriel out!

back in singapore! recent events havent been as desired, but nonetheless i'm gonna jot down every day so far because it has been pretty smooth.

arrived back on a tuesday morning and went to meet my lovely girlfriend for CARS. it was quite stupid at first but upon watching it abit more, it turned out to be quite a decent show! very cute and heartwarming just like most cartoons i guess. nicole and i then bought a lego star wars tie fighter and came home and built it! hee.

wednesday night had dinner at sakae sushi with ping and azad. like the good ole times at sakae sushi haha. ping left for mambo and then azad and i had fun trying to get cabs which took about an hour, including the time the china girl took to steal azad's taxi ha!

thursday was fun too! nicole came over in the morning so then we all went out for lunch with dan and sant! my favourite thai friend is in singapore! heh heh. we had soup kitchen which was pretty darn good except nicole and sant both found the ginseng soup too bitter so dan and i had double servings of soup. nyum!

spent most of yesterday at home till i went out at night. met eric, chuin, ping and azad at mccafe. went to walk walk abit, before eric and chuin left, and marc, tat and SHUMIN arrived. we caught superman returns which was a pretty ok movie even tho most of them didnt like it. i guess it was alright, expected slightly better but the comic book geek in me approved nonetheless.

ian and hian are staying over from malaysia so today we went out for lunch with them and adhi. mmm ampang yong tau foo! after that we went to look at orchard abit before i headed back home first cos im really tired.

miss my girlfriend. even though i don't think she wants to be my girlfriend anymore. i love you nicole.
