i just got back from the greatest show i've ever witnessed, ie the my chemical romance concert aka THE BLACK PARADE. well ok maybe it's abit difficult to say greatest show ever witnessed cause sporting events do count, and my first footie game, as well as watching champions league when i was in sec1 put up a good fight. but at the end of the day, i think mcr comes out on top.

from the moment they came out, it was 80 plus minutes of breathtaking non-stop action. ok so i'll a lil biased being a fan, but i think even neutrals would have applauded the amount of energy they showed throughout the show. even tho i didnt know maybe half the songs (something that doesnt happen very often i may add), i still thoroughly enjoyed it. and when you actually get to hear your favourite songs being played live by the actual artistes themselves, it truly is mind-blowing.

and they were such a tease they ended without playing my favourite song, knowing they'll come back on for an encore. and i tell you the embarassing singapore crowd just waited even though they had left the stage, knowing that they would be back and not making an effort to bait them out again. i think only two people shouted encore (me and weian haha).

BUT... when they the drums finally came in for famous last words, OMG it was pure intoxication. haha and the other songs were played live so well like welcome to the black parade, teenagers, i'm not okay, helena and i don't love you. and the most amazing part was gerard way almost never went off-key!! and i think the youtube videos really do his voice injustice cause i went with preconceived expectations of his singing and he totally proved me wrong. of course, i mainly went there to see mikey way jig around haha drools.

so anyway, just like when i went for yellowcard in melbourne last year, today i have accomplished another thing on my to-do list. thanks to dan, kevin, jenn, weian and cel for accompanying me to an event you would otherwise have not even contemplated attending.

wow this is a landmark event, my first request for song lyrics haha altho i bet it's someone playing a prank and i will find out who soon. but in accordance with this very surprising request, i shall do what all self-respecting musicians do by complying, as well as giving a bit of background info about the song so people understand the song better.

angels and saints is basically a song about having mixed emotions about an existing relationship. where you and a girl are very much in love with one another, but perhaps of late things haven't been smooth sailing and tensions are a little high. and now you two are apart for awhile and the girl loves you so much that she can't even sleep without you at night. and then through it all you realise that relationships are all about accomodation and trying to accept the other party for all their good and bad points. and upon this realisation, you vow to make things right when you get back together.

far away, another day i miss out to tell you
things to say, if not done now could soon be overdue
i leave again, with each new time it makes us further
from where we begin, may the sheer memories bring us closer

i'm sorry for all this, i'll pray and make you this wish

that i hope, the saints will hold you down
till i'm back with you in this town
as the skies, illuminate the darkness in your eyes
and i hope, the angels hold you tight
sleep with you right through the night
then i know, you'll be safe till the morning sun will rise

down the road, the empathy keeps us together
but i can tell, the apathy it makes us colder
the cars race past, each single one they drive on over
a trampled heart, that's getting tired as it gets older

from a love that needs a rest, as it takes its final breath

then i hope, the saints will hold you down
till i'm back with you in this town
as the skies, illuminate the darkness in your eyes
and i hope the angels hold you tight
sleep with you right through the night
then i know, you'll be safe till the morning sun will rise

and i've been trying to let you know for days
that i've been noticing, that i can't let this slip away

then i hope, the saints will hold you down
till i'm back with you in this town
as the skies, illuminate the darkness in your eyes
and i hope the angels hold you tight
sleep with you right through the night
then i know, you'll be safe till the morning sun will rise

so once again, to prevent my poor memory from losing episodes from my first full week back in singapore, i will once again rely on my trusty blog to keep track of what i've done. i will try my best to do this in chronological order but chances are i will fail tremendously.

if i'm not wrong, the first friends i met were tat, owen and marc last friday night at hollandv. owen was meant to pick me up before realising his car wasn't at home so we cabbed down which was all the better cause it meant he could drink more. he met tat and marc at for dinner at the kopitiam with old school bottles of tiger, before deciding to head back to my place where we continued drinking and snacking.

met nigey on saturday if i'm not wrong. we played squash and had a good drink and chat. speaking of which, i haven't seen him since which probably means i should be calling him out soon.

met hoon and yuwei for supper on monday at wendy's spize hut, which is gonna be our new prata hangout considering it's much less crowded, doesn't have waiters spilling curry on you, and the massive thosai which was bigger than a giant frisbee.

had drinks with tat on wednesday at tangos which was pretty good cause we were able to have a good chat and all. cel joined us a lil later and we went to eat western at the kopitiam (again!!) before i got horribly emo haha.

dblO on thursday night was funny, with my secret friend for the evening. the thing i enjoyed most was my $7 hot dog altho it was quite funny how the crowd was 95% malay and 5% chinese (lucky i had my back covered haha). and of that 5% chinese, 49 of them were ah bengs and only 1 was not, that being me. what a horrible experience i'm never going back again haha.

picked dan up from the airport early friday morning; went to laodifang after that to eat meepok which was damn good. went back to catch some much needed sleep before meeting jenn with dan to collect my krispy kremes!! we went to buona vista market to have kway chap and chee kueh which was so so damn good too. friday night went to jin's house party, was good to see shumin cause this means i've seen her at least once already (which is more than the june/july holidays).

weekend was spent very much with the family. today for lunch, we went to toa payoh to eat chicken rice and i had 2 plates of hor fun and 1 plate of rice to accompany my chicken. haha all the hard work in melbourne eating one meal a day and losing weight is most definitely going down the drain in lieu of the gastronomical experience that is singapore food.
