day 4:
woke up nice and early on a chilly ANZAC day morning. walked the city for abit with adriel as well as placing a few customary bets at TAB before catching the traditional ANZAC day clash between collingwood and essendon at home. unfortunately, the magpies were downed by a last minute goal but for once i wasn't too gutted with the defeat because the day was so much more momentuous that just the match that commemorates and celebrates it.

dinner at korean restaurant was quite amazing. the hot stew made us immune to the cold for a grand total of at least 30min. decided to go for a drink after with adriel and weian but everywhere was packed being a public holiday. we eventually ended up at chi bar which was pretty good actually. the drinks they mixed were mostly tasty yet packed quite a punch. we eventually ended up with jo, nina and darryl joining us too. went home to catch the manu match which ended with an amazing second-half comeback.

day 5:
woke up in the early arvo and went for a mega breakfast/lunch with darryl and hongquan. attempted to finish a cavalino's mixed pasta all by myself and almost made it. the waiter was very intrigued and kept an interested eye on my meal throughout. went for a walk in the city again and then met weian for a coffee in the evening before following him to springvale to watch the old team play in the sunday league. couldn't resist going on for a few kicks despite being in jeans and chucktaylors haha but i think i played like a fool. after that we headed back to the city where we had aired grievances over powerade and chips.

day 6:
today was one of the better days. woke up early at 9plus to meet tee for brunch after her class. we ended up at the crepe place at port philip arcade which was quite wonderful. after that we spent the rest of the morning walking around up till the early afternoon and i even managed to buy stuff haha. putting off getting this season's collingwood gear until the last part of the trip to prevent me spending all my money now ha.

met jon cai for a drink; we proceeded to my old watering hole, the Elephant & Wheelbarrow for a few pints. was good cause it was pretty nostalgic but my weakness at drinking resulted in me getting pretty hammered so i spent the early evening sleeping it off. now i'm awake and it's already 4am. LOL but today was really good.

half my holiday is gone SIGH. here's to making the rest of the vacation a resounding success.

MELBOURNE

day 1:
touched down in the morning and made my way down to the city where i would be putting up at adriel and darryl's apartment at citygate. we went out for lunch at trevi joined by weian who was obviously very in the know what i was making my way down haha. after that, i went back to weian's for abit cause he was gonna pick some stuff up but we managed to squeeze in a couple of games of fifa09. also cause he had not eaten the whole day, he was feeling kinda weak or maybe faking it, but he let me drive all the way back to uni! haha that was daunting yet pretty awesome all the same. chilled with him at kfc then i made my way back.

adriel and i then were very spontaneous, first we went to play table tennis at the gym, then we crossed the road to carlton gardens for a kickabout. followed by a spontaneous dinner at this new indian joint (which is SUPER good) cause ying thai was full. after that, i went for a drink with darryl at QV and we had a good catch up.

day 2:
woke up around one in the arvo cause i caught the manu match which finished at 7 in the morn. unfortunately that meant i missed out on brunch with tee. met nina for lunch at yingthai followed by coffee at brunettis with joanne joining us. after that, i met imran and his crew for awhile.

had dinner with tee at kimurakan before heading back to her place to chill and play guitar. it was awesome fun considering we haven't played together in over a year. despite being abit messy we still haven't lost it thankfully. plus i got to hear her originals which are QUITE amazing. i love them.

day 3:
today was awesome because i went back to one of my favourite places on earth: BRUNSWICK. we got there around noon and headed straight for babka, a place that rarely disappoints. after abit of shopping and sightseeing, we went to check out the Little Creatures Dining Hall on adriel's recommendation, and the place is QUITE the sight to behold. the sheer concept and ingenuity of it was pretty darn captivating, and despite it being four in the arvo and originally only planning to grab a beer and some snacks, we ended up with a full blown dinner of mains and sides.

made the way back down to the city with our tummies full, we then proceeded to play table tennis with darryl and their housemate hong, as well as catching bits of the port-stkilda match which was a whitewash to say the least. been chilling around the house since then, darryl came back from drinking and just made indomee with ikea meatballs. quite the fantastic idea. darryl's a great chef lol.

that's my trip so far. 3 days down, 10 to go :( time is passing way too fast. however, i feel like i've done quite alot already so as long as i maximise my time here i can't really have too many regrets.

ANZAC day tmr, LEST WE FORGET.

this weekend was a SUPER GOOD one i must say. it was the most eventful in awhile.

on friday, iylia brought to this thai club to finish his remaining bottle of chivas as we were celebrating his POP from ERS course (congrats sergeant iylia!!). thai club was definitely interesting and an eye-opener haha considering i've never been to one before. it was really quite fun actually. after which, we headed down to the newly re-opened butter factory, which i must say is absolutely amazing. we all got pretty smashed, mainly from the jagerpower5. don't quite remember much of what happened, altho i can at least remember being a centimetre away from fiona xie on the dancefloor. the same can't be said for amos who went up behind the DJ in his console and started dancing away lol.

spent most of saturday recovering, which included throwing up on two seperate occasions ha. half-listened to radio commentary online for the collingwood-melbourne game which the pies thankfully won. recovery from hangover was certainly helped my two ideal meals: maggi curry flavour for lunch and mui fun for dinner. gosh mui fun is my new favourite dish. i also caught Definitely, Maybe on cable which is my new favourite movie without a doubt.

today had soccer game in the afternoon. i managed to score in the first half, but my game ended prematurely when i felt my hamstring literally snap early in the second. gonna see a doctor tmr, cause i'm really in some excructiating pain at the moment. came back and chilled until manu game. OMG most exciting match in the longest time. i normally dislike talking about teams and matches on blogs or facebook statuses because i find it a lil OTT and people tend to get carried away but WOW. totally capped off a fantastic weekend.

i think i've decided to go to the states over australia. however, the latter has so much more appeals. i guess i'll see how it goes. hope this week is equally good. it has to be. it's EASTER WEEKEND. gabriel out!
