today was a pretty eventful day. had lunch with my aunt, cousin and bro at vis-a-vis for lunch, opposite beauty world. still the best french food you can get in singapore.

met tat and owen for dinner, we went to chachacha's at hollandv which is also pretty tasty mexican food in singapore. so four thumbs up for great meals today.

proceeded to tango's happy hour, where we each had four drinks. i had two guinnesses and two bourbon cokes (which tasted stronger than normal), tat finally made friends with TUBORG and he wasnt very easy to palate haha.

ate more after that at kopitiam altho i didnt order anything (nicole must be proud of me!) altho i did finish owen's chicken skin for him and i "helped" with the fries haha. we bought shumin a brownie after that and sent it over to her along with her present. a bacardi breezer, haha so HAPPY 19TH SHUMIN!!

came home and played cards with eric tat and owen, chong's first attempt at bluff was pretty amusing. eric left to be replaced by shumin, cards was replaced by mahjong. end of a long and tiring day.

between the pissy part in the afternoon, and tat's 45 minute hiccuping session, i cant decide if it was a decent day or a great day. thanks tat your hiccups cheered me up haha (owen too of course!)

yesterday was decent; jin came over to play winning11 then for dinner dan and me met up with y3: yuwei, yuda and yuji. haha was good catching up the twins are still the same altho da said i look older haha.

zouk was pretty good. went with nicole, azad, syed, and dan, hoon and the whole bunch of them. drank like mad but it was all in the spirit of good fun, azad was dancing like mad haha. and we tried to get on tv cause there was a cameraman, so azad and i went in front of him and started waving, and then we said to him "FILM US!!" and he very superbly replied "FOR WHAT?" and we straight away headed back to our seats haha.

very funny this freaking gay was dancing so close to my chair and he was screaming all the lyrics into my ear as though i wanted to learn how to sing the song. so i had enough when his flailing arms smacked my head i went up to him and prodded him and said "you just hit my head". and he was like still dancing and going oh sorry sorry and then azad came and said what's wrong and i started swearing at the guy and azad made him say sorry to me five more times and then after that he ran away to the bar. i'm just a wannabe gangster seriously, i'm damn bad to gays i think i'll get retribution one day.

today is a lazy lazy day, nicole came over in the morning just now. we just lazed, watched food channel and got hungry, mum bought us roast pork noodles home. yum now i'm just lazing as usual. gabriel out!!

MERRYCHRISTMAS!!!

christmas eve dinner last night was sumptuous to say the least. the rents had a few friends over, as did my brother, so i had azad, owen, mindy and nicole over. it was nice being able to celebrate christmas with friends and family at the same time, altho christmas has traditionally been a more family occasion for me.

woke up at 3pm tonight, grabbed some leftovers before heading for mum's side dinner at my uncle's place. same nosh but i like christmas food so that wasn't much of a problem.

kevin was damn funny just now he was asking me what i bought for nicole, and then we ended the topic by him asking me "so what was the damage done". haha but it's so true, buying presents for girls always DOES DAMAGE!!! heh heh next year i'm buying nicole one plate of rojak that's all :P

today was rather stoned. mostly chilled at home.

played pool in the evening with dan at bukit timah plaza, was losing 2-3 and won 6-2!! haha but he was really unlucky and i've become so much lousier than before and i wasn't even good to begin with. went for supper at hollandv, my favourite chicken chop where i devised my rough draft plans to buaya the malay auntie so next time she will give me a bigger piece of chicken/ free chicken wing/ more fries etc.

came home and watched the united match where a stunning second half display overshadowed a lacklustre first half. it's the 24th of december,

today was a pretty stressful day; lots of unhappy occurrences. makes you wonder how many evil and despicable people there are in the world, trying to create trouble for everyone else. i would call you a b*tch but i think i'm above that honestly.

only slept at 6 this morning but woke up to jin knocking on my room door, or rather blatantly entering. we spent the whole day shopping where i managed to get two gifts!! haha rather fruitful. something distasteful threatened to spoil the afternoon but i think we managed to keep it under control reasonably. much credit to azad and jin who were keeping me calm and sorting my thoughts for me.

had a beer at cosmopolitan with owen, before heading off to meet nicole. we ate in today, stingray and rice, and GOLDEN PILLOW. haha so full after that, but it was a pretty satisfying meal.

anyway, i forgot to note down one very eventful and interesting situation at ZOUK on wednesday. firstly around 2, tat, who suffers from acute danceflooraphobia, needed some fresh air due to probably his shirt being too tight from all that muscles HEH HEH. so we were outside, and tat said "omg gab look TRANNIES!!" and i was like woah shit i saw three erm persons with long rebonded neck length hair, tight tees, with lipstick and eyeliner and THE MOST MANLY FACE YOU CAN EVER IMAGINE.

so fast forward to 5 when tat was, well let's just say 'giddier' than normal. haha so we were walking to the taxi stand past the hotel, when against the pillar we saw the trannies! only this time there were a total of 5!! and they all looked the same!! then as i walked past, this trannie put his/her hand on my chest and said "would you like to take my friend home?" in the LOWEST OF MANLY LOW VOICES EVER!! omg i was so stress and scared i was like, "yar sure just gimme a minute to put my friend in a cab first ok?" and when he/she said ok i ran off like never before, making sure tat was close by to protect me.

i think the trannies are damn smart, they had a plan. i was meant to "bring the drunk tranny friend home" so when i left, the remaining four could feast on tat and his muscles. i do believe he was the bigger catch and "drunk tranny friend" was just bait for an ikan bilis for me.

what a great wednesday!! nicole came over to give me the stuff she bought for my from bangkok including my ronaldo jersey heh heh. we were watching oliver's twist and jamie oliver was making burgers for his friend who's an elvis impersonator. and in the truest harold and kumar fashion, we decided we HAD to eat burgers. no no we werent gonna call 6777-3777, that would have sucked.

we would only settle for Carl's Jr.

so thus our long voyage begun even tho i live in yiochukang, we had to satisfy our cravings. much less eventful than our heroes, no poser punks or leopards or freakshow but we did reach our destination, and boy was it a good meal.

owen came after dinner, we tried to get a bit of christmas present shopping done to no avail!! girlfriends are a nightmare to shop for. tat met us in town, we went back to put the car before heading down to zouk!!

last nite was really smashing, as in everyone was quite smashed. haha it was so damn crowded we got a lil grumpy at first but then everyone started moving to dont know where and the first two beers calmed me and tat down. after that we proceeded to one flaming, two hot and stickys and another beer?? i cant even remember haha.

the hot and sticky was the bomb (kudos to marc for the tip), even tat and owen were like omg this is damn strong. haha i've never seen a monster like tat slumped on the floor before haha he was alright la but i put him in the cab myself just to make sure.

woke up at 3 today, my first fellow fallen comrade, being owen, messaged me telling me he was damn smashed in fact when he actually behaved pretty sober la. then awhile ago, i just had a call from brave man number 2 who apparently cannot remember how and why we left the club. haha seems to me he didnt get enough of drink!! and he's complaining to me that his stomach hurts now haha tat the gentle giant.

zouk was good too because we ran into old catholic high primary friends! it was crazy la so many of them and they still are good friends and all. didnt see them at first but owen spotted them and said hi. the only catholic high boy i'm still in contact with is owen, and even then we didnt even know each other in primary school haha.

today was a tiring day. attempted to start christmas shopping to no avail, found nothing for myself nor anything suitable for gifts. what happened to the cool band tees from zara man, i was so eyeing them and before you know it, GONE.

ate like a pig today. meet jin in town and proceeded straight to have lunch at pepper lunch. within a few hours of walking around, we decided to stop for a drink at nydc, where i proceeded to have a baked rice as well. heh heh no wonder i wasnt hungry at all till 11plus, that's when i had the BEST HOME DELIVERY ever.

and because i'm so selfish i'm not gonna tell anyone how i ordered. but a motorbike man delivered to me, in the cold pouring rain, sambal stingray, white rice and a sugar cane juice. haha all for only $17 which is like maybe a couple of bucks more than if i had ordered from newton?? so good man, oh so good.

nicole's coming back tomorrow. cant wait hope she bought me presents haha. just joking gabriel out.

friday was the best day in a long while, and that's saying something considering i've been having pretty decent weeks.

caught eragon with nicole in the afternoon, i'm such a geek when it comes to these kinda fantasy stuff. was really fun and we ate two meals, taco bell before the movie, and thai express after haha what greedy pigs.

we walked around for awhile before she had to leave and then i went to meet owen and azad who were having teppenyaki haha. was walking to wheelock where owen parked when we ran into adam who was with his parents so he came along and we all trooped down to brewerkz.

haha owen and i went kinda berserk there, cause he was feeling a lil down and of course i never say no to a beer. but haha i didnt expect the jug to be that big, had a jug of dark ale and a pint of IPA which was pretty darn good too. couldnt finish in the end but was pretty high.

quite funny, the moment we drove off i had to go to the loo urgently even tho i went like 3 times before. so we had to stop at clarke quay mrt, and from the entrance to the loo was damn friggin' far!! and i almost peed my pants seriously.

azad and jin came home with me, went to the park for a nice chat.

nicole went to bangkok this morning and owen left for penang last night so that's like girlfriend and bestfriend away for the weekend, which probably explains why i stoned at home the whole day today. nahh not really, i shall exercise my other trustworthy sources of friendship eg. the two hockey players? and my brother and his friends of course.

haha family day tmr, but roasting chicken for my family for dinner. hope it turns out alright. gabriel out!!

today was stoned, i just rotted away at home.

my godfamily from new zealand came down to visit, so they came over in the evening to chit chat and then we went to sicc for dinner. it was alright, catching up with people you havent spoken to in years is albeit a lil challenging and uncomfortable at first but i think we managed well. what with my godsisters and godbrother all grown up now, having very different conversations as opposed to all those years back.

watching eragon tomorrow!! so excited, the new beginning for the dragon riders hur hur.

this evening was pretty good. went down to hollandv and had drinks and tango's with owen, adam, marc, and the surprise of all CHEN TAT!!! haha it was really fun altho we counted that i had to wait 4 weeks and 4 days to meet tat. got so angry at him i told him to "TALK TO TUBORG" which resulted in the start of a new inside joke.

took advantage of the happyhour 1-for-1 which ended at 9 to wallop down a few beers before proceeding to get some decent grub. the owners of my favourite malay western food stall seem o have changed due to the different exterior but the food is still so damn good. maybe they just change the outside, altho my black pepper chicken chop now comes with COOKED VEGETABLES (a great enemy!!) instead of my usual favourite coleslaw, baked beans and a bun!! what happened man but never mind, the main more than makes up for it.

was tempted to go to zouk but behaved and came back for a few more drinks with owen. yuwei and hoon were over to talk to dan so we chilled for abit, conducting the winning11 tri-club tournament which i finished second to yuwei by a single point. he then uploaded my videos from Rock-Alias onto my comp and they're pretty good so if you would like to see them if maybe you couldnt make it, do let me know!

yesterday was a very very good day.

woke up bright and early to go to my aunt's house to play with my cousin's new siberian husky which is absolutely adorable, whilst waiting for my brother to finish work. left around lunchtime and proceeded to get lost in the east while driving around finding TOSCA AVENUE.

eventually reached to meet up with nicky and my favourite thai friend VASANT BORVORNVANITCHYAKUL, who was in singapore to get engaged! haha then we ate nearby before going to play footy. so fun, havent played for fun in awhile and nicky is really quite good, may recruit him into our team.

sent sant to the airport where we chilled a lil and also did jackass things like weighing myself on the baggage weighing scale. also i realised how flawed airport english is. next time the ah beng at the check-in asks you, "these bags you got pack yourself?" you tell him "dont be stupid if i pack myself then i wouldnt be out here talking to you right?" haha see what he says and tell me k!

nicole was so sweet to come over for awhile before dinner cause she's been really busy with work lately, then after that i went dinner/supper with dan, owen and shumin. it was the bomb man!! hokkien mee, tiger prawns (largest i've ever seen!!), stingray, and clams. it was super duper shiok.

i'm looking forward to hollandv tonite, a decent bout of drinking and of course, my favourite chicken chop!

so The Caravan's spot on rock-alias was pretty decent despite the lack of solid practice. i think we sounded decent and many people told me we did, as opposed to shenanigans2 (but those people dont understand, we're a completely different band!!) heh.

woke up nice and early at 9plus cause we were meant to have practice as early as 10am. tang was punctual as usual and then i called moses and i woke him up he still sounded sleepy haha. couldnt get hold of azad so i almost wanted to die cos he had a wild night before and i just knew he would oversleep but well he surprised me by turning up at my doorstep, only failing to receive my call because of a faulty phone. moses turned up soon and we jammed away.

got to home club at about 2plus, went to grab lunch before doing our sound check and after that it was just waiting. abit disappointed that we were the first band up and the place was like 3/4 empty; hardly packed as moses also noticed. but still we tried our best to be professional and put on a show despite the lack of numbers or enthusiasm. it wasnt a perfect set but we made it through, covering up for each other and i think at the end of the day we werent bad at all. more importantly i thoroughly enjoyed myself.

and for that i would like to thank firstly my band, shah azad, nicklaus tang and moses lim who have been overly patient with my perfectionist tendencies and volatile rudeness when things dont feed into place. they made the music sound fantastic even though i was always scolding and reminding them haha. secondly, the organisers for giving us a slot, the exposure and experience were priceless. all the people who made it down just to see us, your support means more than anything else could ever do.

so yes, i promise i will make a massive attempt to ensure this isnt the start and end of The Caravan. have half a mind to eventually turn this "side-project" into the main thing and go from there. first, you have to convince tang, azad and moses that we should stay together as a band haha. i really had lotsa fun today, we're looking forward to writing new songs so that we can play for you again.

friday was pretty chill. met azad and jin in town for lunch, then had jamming with azad, moses and tang till 8pm. ordered pizza in and friends came. eric, tim chek, zhi, jwong, nick oh, owen, mindy, mich, shumin, adam, jin, azad, marc wong, think thats about it and nicole as well of course.

lost 2 games of beer pong (once with eric as partner, and the other time with nicole), killer blows by jin and mindy resulted in me having to drink more than planned. especially the gloriously threatening ASSORTED PONG, which consisted of 5 cups each with jagermeister, sambuca, vodka, malibu and baileys. and bcos it went into sudden death, when mindy popped the ball in, i was a goner.

haha winningeleven with adam almost resulted in my dying from laughing; poker was good last night, i only get great cards when we're playing in multiples of $2 :(

second gig in a few weeks tmr, and we're rather unprepared but i think we're good enough to pull thru and put on a good show. pray for us, and i'll see you there tomorrow. gabriel (of The Caravan) out!

JOB OFFER.

to any interested applicant,

havent been out and about for awhile? feel like you could do something more useful with your life that dota-ing? have nothing to do for the next 16 hours before your next WoW raid? why not spend your time usefully and get a job.

The Caravan, the latest band to hit local shores, are looking for enthusiastic and friendly individuals who arent afraid to be yelled at by me to be part of their backstage crew. this job offer extends only for one exclusive gig, at this sunday's Rock Alias. you will have to, amongst other stuff, straighten my guitar cable, carry out my acoustic onto stage and back during guitar changes, and pick up azad's flying drumsticks that he failed to catch.

to up the coolness factor of being a backstage crew, i'm even willing to throw my guitar at you so that you look cool catching it. however this comes with a few terms and conditions.

1. you must swear not to drop my guitar under any circumstances.
2. you must promise to catch it in the first place.
3. if you had to choose between your life and the wellbeing of my guitar, you would choose the latter.
4. you have in your bank, more that $2000 so i can sue you for any potential damages.

there we go, now that we've got that straight, interested people please apply!!

got my results back yesterday. three credits and a pass which is pretty good for me. parents were pretty chuffed that i actually didn't fail anything for a change.

today was a decent day. met jin for dinner at expensive taka jap restaurant, went for drinks with when joined by azad and owen and nicole came too. later, came back after taking a pitstop at owen's for his dinner, and also to look at his kittens (which azad calls "pussies").

let azad hear the originals we'll be playing on sunday so that he can put in some drum bits, not bad he kinda likes them. nicole left after awhile, owen and azad stayed on for more drinks, having a great time consuming revolutionary concoctions and going almost catatonic from laughter at azad's army stories. about the malaysian army guy who goes "NOW YOU TRYYY" to the kungfu zephyr man. well this all dont make much sense but just ask azad to tell you if you see him. i literally fell of the couch onto the floor, rolling about and gagging in hysterics.

after they left, watched manu win boro 2-1 to cap off a wonderful night, and an equally positive ending to a few days worth of war.

feeling pretty greedy now but am abit lazy to go down and take food. perhaps i shall stay up till 7am before inviting my parents out for morning breakfast. what's more they'll pay heh heh gabriel out!
